What to expect

If you haven’t been to St. Peter’s on Sundays before, you might be wondering what to expect. Here are a few things that might be helpful to know:

  • As an Episcopal Church, our worship service includes hymns and songs, readings from Holy Scripture, a sermon, prayers and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, where we experience Jesus present with us in bread and wine.

  • Everything you need to participate in the service is included in the service bulletin that you will receive as you enter, or in the hymnal located in your seat. We encourage you to participate as fully and actively as you feel comfortable.

  • We strive to worship together as a community of people of all ages—quite literally, from 7 to 100. Infants and children are always welcome. Our Lower Parish Hall is equipped with a family restroom if your child needs a diaper change or you would like a quieter space for feeding. For children who might need a little extra wiggle room during the service, we have recently created kid-friendly space in church equipped with soft toys and excellent books.

  • Our building is accessible to people with disabilities. An elevator connects our Lower Parish Hall with the church.

  • If you are new, we promise not to single you out, or make you introduce yourself during the service.

  • If you are hearing-impaired, hearing assistive devices are available.

  • We like food. After church, the meal and fellowship that we shared at the altar continues with our Hospitality Hour in the Lower Parish Hall. Please join us!
